Cherrycreek Manor Park
(near Brooktree and Brookcrest)
|

One of our Brooktree Creek Mallards |
 |
| These mounds are for jumping bikes. But, is that
bicycles or motorcycles?? These were about chest high ...about 4 1/2 feet
high until the Park District leveled them.

The
standing water in parks can become a mosquito hatchery. And with West
Nile Virus being a growing problem in the Central Valley. we need to all
be aware of problems like this. |
This was a full-fledged dam. Downed tree limbs had
caused the brush in the creek to collect here. This was cleaned out, but
will be back again.

In this photo you see a shopping cart, a brush dam, and a tree limb broken and
down on the walk path. The dam and cart were removed, and the limb ended
up in the creek creating a new dam. It was later removed
